AVx Medical: Medical Electronics to Improve Safety and Comfort
of Patients
Alfia Wallace, Co-founder
Alfia
Wallace assists AVx Medical with technical writing, regulatory
compliance, public relations and its website. She has 14 years
of experience in research and analysis, 7 years in public relations
and 8 years in web development. In recent years her organizational
skills have extended to founding and managing national non-profits,
spearheading local and national public relations campaigns, teaching
web development, Russian and Arabic to gifted schoolchildren,
and serving 7 years as Cubmaster of a local scout pack. In 2005
she has completed a Continuing Medical Education (CME) online
E-learning
module which is being offered for free and for
CME credit through UCSF School of Medicine (see betablockerprotocol.com).
Alfia is a graduate of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School
for the Performing Arts, NYC (majoring in Drama), holds a B.A.
in Linguistics and Russian from the State University of New York
at Stony Brook, an M.A. in Slavic Languages & Literatures
from Yale University with additional coursework in Italian, Spanish
and Arabic at UC-Berkeley. After graduate school she worked for
8 years in translation and analysis for the federal government.
While at home raising children she founded and managed four adoption-related
non-profit organizations, focusing on public relations and web
development. She has been interviewed in media ranging from Newsweek
to the Chicago Tribune to Fox TV's "Mornings on 2".
